Summer Sailstice - Sail locally, celebrate globally

"This is a great idea. We love to get folks out on their boats having fun in a non-competitive manner."

You're invited to join Deep Creek Yacht Club for a Summer Sailstice celebration in Brooklyn, NY

Deep Creek Yacht Club This sounds like fun. If you're sailing the waters South of the Verrazano Narrows Bridge, near Seagate and Breezy Point you're not far from the Deep Creek Yacht Club on Dead Horse Bay. Commodore Bill Woodroffe has invited you to an after sail Summer Sailstice gathering:

Deep Creek Yacht Club hosts a Summer Sailstice 2004 after sail raft-up. Come to Dead Horse Bay, Brooklyn NY, after an early afternoon sail to help celebrate summer sailing. Bring any food made with Sun Dried Tomatoes, Sun Flower Seed or any food with the word Sun in it and some red wine. Sharing this food at the raft up ensures a warm summer and favorable winds for all. At 1557 horns will sound and bells will ring to usher the sun's approach to the Tropic of Cancer. Raft up will start after 1400.

Sounds like a great place to be on the longest sailing day of the year.
