Bloomington, Indiana – Heart of Sailing Takes Mentally Challenged Kids on a Sailstice Daysail
Heart of Sailing will hold its first Summer Sailstice event on June 18 at Lake Monroe, in Bloomington, Indiana. Heart of Sailing is a not-for-profit foundation dedicated to sharing the excitement of sailing in a therapeutic environment with children who have cognitive impairments. This Summer Sailstice event will also be the organization’s inaugural event to introduce its services for special-needs children in the Southern Indiana Region.
Beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Fourwinds Resort and Marina, HOS volunteers will be providing sailing instruction and activities for participants, including a brief sail of about an hour to celebrate Summer Sailstice and promote their full Daysail Program.
Following the inaugural sail, snacks and beverages will be provided for participants. If you are sailing in the area and want to take some kids out for a nautical experience, contact Heart of Sailing to sign up. For more information, visit the HOS website at
