"This is a great idea. We love to get folks out on their boats having fun in a non-competitive manner."

Long Beach Catapalooza”

Members of the “BeachCats” will host the second annual Summer Sailstice Catapalooza on June 18 at the Claremont Launch Ramp in Long Beach. The BeachCats want to share their enthusiasm for old-fashioned beachcat sailing. This is a great opportunity for seasoned, new, and wanna-be catamaran owners to get together for a fun regatta focused on sharing rides, skills, and knowledge. Anyone can show up (with or without a cat) for some sailing fun and free rides. (The rides may be free, but the Claremont Launch Ramp does charge a fee to enter—bring $8.00 in exact bills.)

After a fun day of sailing, the BeachCats plan to enjoy a BBQ dinner and party in the evening. Last year’s Catapalooza was a fantastic event with a good turnout. Many people showed up for free rides, and boats were coming and going to and from shore all day long. Catapalooza Directions, tinyurl.com/248d3, http://tinyurl.com/4kbaa
