Chautauqua Lake Sailing Rallye
Summer SAILstice 2022
What: The Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy invites you to go sailing and help us raise funds to support our mission. Everyone is welcome to participate.

Where: Chautauqua Lake, New York, USA
Sailors from Chautauqua Lake Yacht Club (CLYC) and Chautauqua Lake Community Sailing Foundation in the south basin, and Chautauqua Yacht Club (CYC) in the north basin of Chautauqua Lake will be out sailing in support of this event. Powerboats and hand-powered craft are welcome, too. This first annual “Sail for the Lake” aquatic Rallye celebrates the fun of sailing/boating and the beauty and environmental preservation of the lake we love.
The Mission of the Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy is to preserve and enhance the water quality, scenic beauty, and ecological health of the lakes, streams, wetlands, and watersheds of the Chautauqua region.
Here’s how it works:
- Show your interest by checking-in (see below) and please consider a donation to help the conservation work of the CWC. Every registered boat/crew will receive a commemorative gift. Donations to CWC are encouraged and donations of $25 or more earn a commemorative shirt! (supplies limited)
- Launch from anywhere on the lake, any marina, club, ramp, dock or mooring.
- Just Go Sailing anytime between 10 AM and 4 PM, any direction, any speed, anytime.
- Attend a post-sail gathering w/ refreshments–tentative, depending on status of the pandemic.
- Enter your pictures in the optional Pix-Challenge, a photo-documented scavenger hunt. Take a picture of many of the “treasures” on the list. Will you be the one who gets a great picture of the Sheriff waving back? Prizes will be awarded in several categories.
Enjoy a day of sailing companionship and comradery to benefit the Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy (CWC) in solidarity with the international Summer SAILstice celebration of sailing.
