Summer Sailstice is the opportunity to join sailors around the world and celebrate our shared passion for sailing. And this year CRSA is planning a Poker Run! So mark your calendars, brush up on your poker skills, and join in on the fun. Here's what you need to know:

When: Saturday June 20, 4 pm

Where: Cave Run Lake, Morehead KY. Meet at the top of the pedestrian walkway (NOT the boat ramp) at the Scott Creek Marina. (Please socially distance and wear a mask if necessary.) Sailors and their crew will be given more detailed instructions.

What: Boats will sail (or motor) to three different locations (3 anchored boats) in the main body of the lake, picking up playing cards to complete their 5-card poker hand. Best hand wins according to conventional poker rules. Players will receive their first card at the 4 pm meeting and the remainder of their cards on the lake. A poker run is NOT a race!

Entry fees: $20 per hand (adult division); Free for all youth sailors (junior division). One hand per person, but each boat may have multiple players (hands). Up to three additional cards may be purchased for $5 each. CASH only please OR you can sign-up and pay the entry fee online at caverunsailing.org. If you know of a junior sailor that needs to borrow a sunfish, please email commodore@caverunsailing.org asap.

Prizes: Deeply coveted prizes will be given to the winning hands in each division. YES -- you will want to win!

Proceeds: All proceeds will go to support the Cave Run Youth Sailing Academy!

Reminder: June 20 is also a race day for CRSA. The race will begin in the main body of the lake at 12 pm. We hope all racers stick around for the Poker Run!

Everyone knows we are still in the midst of a pandemic. You know what to do to stay safe. Please be responsible for yourself and towards your fellow sailors. CRSA will take every precaution to do the same!
