My 11-year-old grandson, Cody Wood, and I will be "kicking some stern" on the Alameda-Oakland Estuary on Fri., June 21 as we compete in the Island Yacht Club Island Nights summer beer can series on our Chuck Burns design 1978 Wilderness 21, "Slice."
