Celebrate the start of the summer sailing season with Modern Sailing School & Club. Join our Introductory Sailing Lesson and Member Mixer Celebration!
An "Introductory Sail" is a one-day sailing excursion facilitated by our experienced USCG-licensed instructors. The day will start at our Berkeley base where you will meet your fellow crew and captain for the day. After a brief introduction to sailing, you will step aboard one of our yachts and the sail will begin. You will have the opportunity to hoist and trim the sails as well as steer the yacht - or simply sit back and enjoy the experience and the iconic San Francisco Bay scenery. If your goal is to learn and participate, you will finish the day with a basic understanding of sailing principles.
Anyone who is interested in learning to sail and for experienced sailors who want to be able to sail frequently without having to own a boat, come on by and chat with our friendly team of experts. Find out about how we can get you out on the water to enjoy sailing our beautiful San Francisco Bay!
After your sail with us, participate in our special Summer Sailstice Member Mixer Celebration at the Modern Sailing Berkeley Club Patio from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. We are also hosting a Summer Sailstice Club Sail aboard Modern Sailing Sausalito's Seawind 1160 catamaran "Ho'okele" and Modern Sailing Berkeley's Lagoon 40' "Folie à Deux." Club Sails are for Modern Sailing club members and up to 2 adult guests per member. Check the Schedule for details.
All Modern Sailing members, guests of members, and non-member students sailing with us on June 21 are also invited to join the Member Mixer Celebration! The party begins at 4:00pm and ends at 7:00pm.
