Come celebrate the start of the summer sailing season with a Modern Sailing Introductory Sailing Lesson and Après Sail!
An "Intro Sail" is a one-day sailing excursion facilitated by our experienced USCG-licensed instructors. The day will start at our Sausalito base where you will meet your fellow crew and captain for the day. After a brief introduction to sailing, you will step aboard one of our yachts and the sail will begin. You will have the opportunity to hoist and trim the sails as well as steer the yacht - or simply sit back and enjoy the experience and the iconic San Francisco Bay scenery. If your goal is to learn and participate, you will finish the day with a basic understanding of sailing principles.
After your sail, join us in the Modern Sailing lounge for a special Summer Sailstice Après Sail Celebration. We will be serving gourmet antipasto, fine wine, craft beers, and other snacks and beverages. While being entertained with LIVE MUSIC by some great local musicians, the "MODERATELY HANDSOME" band, you'll have the opportunity to meet and mingle with some of our staff and instructors, students, and club members.

We will also have a pop-up tent and table set up for anyone who is interested in learning to sail and for experienced sailors who want to be able to sail frequently without having to own a boat. We are also hosting a Summer Sailstice Club Sail aboard our Seawind 1160 catamaran "Ho'okele." Club Sails are for Modern Sailing club members and up to 2 adult guests per member. Check the Schedule for details.
All Modern Sailing members, guests of members, and non-member students sailing with us on June 22 are also invited to join the Après Sail Celebration! The party begins at 3:00pm and ends at 6:00pm.
