Bar-B-Cruisers 1st Summer Sailstice June 17th
Carter Lake, Loveland, Colorado
Our festivities ran from dawn to dusk! The Carter Lake Sailing Club opened its clubhouse and began our inaugural year of celebrating the Summer Sailstice with a picnic for the region’s young Coast Guard cadet inductees and their families, hosted by Jeff and Linda Gruver. This was the perfect setting and forum to introduce these young Coast Guard inductees from the Intermountain Region to each other for the first time, and before they each leave for the academy.
It was so rewarding to take cadets and family out on Serafina, our 27’ Pearson, since they had never been on a sailboat, and here – the perfect day!
Returning to the docks for a classic christening celebration of “SeaDuction”, the newest boat in our sailing club fleet. Then all of the Bar-B-Cruisers set sail onto the lake to later raft up at sunset and pass gourmet hors d oeuvres of shrimp, salmon, fruit and brie, boat to boat, with two of our sailors performing a violin serenade!
