Share something Great with the World: Sailing!

These recent days we are learning how much we all have in common as we band together to face a common global threat. Just think: what if we all united in a day of Fun? Like…Sailing!?

We’ve been doing that for 19 years already, it’s called Summer Sailstice. It’s global, it’s pandemic, it’s free and it’s a Ton of Fun!

Celebrate all things sailing, with the World, on the 20th Summer Sailstice, June 20, 2020. It’s also Father’s Day and the New Moon, how could it be more auspicious!?

Or easy, for that matter. All it takes is one person and one boat, but it’s Lots More Fun if you share. Sharing is Encouraged!

We’ll see how things develop over time, but in the meanwhile, it can’t hurt to dream of the most fun, novel way to share your love of sailing, and thereby spur the rest of the globe to not only look ahead but to dream ahead. Let’s go outside and Sail! - Shelly

Shelly is an active member of the Corinthian Yacht Club and hosts their Speaker Series. Relatively new to sailing, she grew up on all manner of boats in the Catskills (with The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel on Oquaga Lake!) and the Adirondacks -- just no sailboats, alas. After taking several incredible classes at Wooden Boat School in Maine, she considers herself a decent sailor and lover of wooden boats.

Catch Shelly at this year's Summer Sailstice out on the water or at Master Mariner's Wooden Boat Show which will be at the Corinthian Yacht Club during this years 20th Summer Sailstice Weekend!
