On Saturday, June 18th, owners Marisa Velasco and Charlie Bloomer invited local sailors to take underprivileged kids from Guaymas out for a day on the water. 12 kids and 15 adults set out for a beautiful, sunny sail. The kids seemed to have a great time, and only a few sailors suffered from “el mareo” (seasickness).

On Sunday, San Carlos Yachts hosted a beach cleanup party. The 50 volunteers who arrived cleaned up more than 60 bags of trash in less than 2 hours. During the after-cleanup festivities, sponsors handed out free t-shirts and served 78 hotdogs, 40 bags of chips and 50 scoops of ice cream! Musician Mark Mulligan entertained the troops with some rockin’ tunes for the rest of the morning.

San Carlos Yachts’ Summer Sailstice weekend was co-hosted by World Wildlife Fund, Conciencia y Educacion Ambiental, Marina San Carlos, Marina Seca, Barracuda Bobs, Ocean Camp, and Posada del Desierto
