The Vallarta Yacht Club Jr. Sailing Program provides Fun and Safe Sailing lessons for children throughout Bahia de Banderas. Children are provided with individual sailing vessels, including Optimists and Lasers, and taught water and equipment safety and sportsmanship. As they grow and start racing, through this program are eligible to participate in competitive regattas with youth from all over Mexico and the International sailing community. Along the way, children gain self-confidence and pride in their accomplishments, while learning decision making and team work skills, as well as developing character, knowledge of and love for the sea.
This event has been traditionally organized by the parents of the Vallarta Yacht Club Junior Sailing Program, who are very involved in the developing in youth sailing in Bahia de Bandera’s as well as in the individual growth of their own children, using the discipline of the Sport of Sailing as a tool raising independent resilient children.
