This is Bob Diamond of Spinnaker Sailing Redwood City who's managed to celebrate Summer Sailstice three years in a row
In the cockpit at anchor in Road Bay on one of the boats is (L to R) Bob Diamond, Lynn Linhares, George Scoda, Jim Harper and Darrell Wooten |
in the Caribbean! This year he was off Gustavia in St. Barts with a Moorings flotilla where they gathered with Summer Sailstice burgee and perfect island weather. You see Bob is one of those guys we're often jealous of as he's been able to combine his sailing passion with a working lifestyle. He teaches sailing on San Francisco Bay and often is hosting trips for students and club members to various great destinations around the world.
He also knows Summer Sailstice is one of the great times to go to the Caribbean. Off season charter rates often apply and the sun stays out longer than at any other time of the year. The harbors are a bit quieter and the sailing as good as ever. Sounds like a good plan to us and having done it three times it must agree with Bob too!
A couple of days after Summer Sailstice they were on the dock in Road Bay, Anguilla with the customs and immigration office building in the background when Governor Alan Huckle (wearing the tie) came down welcoming Bob and Lynn Linhares to the island. The other gentleman on the left is a staff member showing the new governor around the island.
