SailGP will bring major excitement to New York Harbor over Summer Sailstice weekend as ten countries compete in the 12th of 13 global events. Sailings best professional athletes will fly over the water at 60+ mph speeds on identical 50-ft catamarans.

Are you going to be on the water for this major sailing event? Go to the SailGP Summer Sailstice event and click the blue "Join" button to let us know.

Competing countries and their season championship standings after 11 events:
- 1st: New Zealand, 83 pts

- 3rd: Australia, 71 pts
- 4th: France, 65 pts

Each SailGP event features six fleet races, but don't go to the bar to get a drink; each race has a 16 minute time limit after which the race is terminated and scoring is awarded as long as at least one boat has reached the established scoring distance. The SailGP scoring system awards points for each race over all events and are tallied to determine the top three boats that will compete for the winner-takes-all Season Grand Final in San Francisco Bay on July 13-14.

If you can't make it to New York for the Sail Grand Prix, you can find many other opportunities to join a race or view one during Summer Sailstice. Here's a sampling from our World Map:
