Virginia - sailing out of Hampton

We're not sure what to make of this photo but we're pretty sure it's the greeting the first, native Virginaia sailors used upon the arrival of the English and Spaniards to the coast of the Americas.  The tradition is being carried on by Caryn and Travis Hogg of S/V LAJNAD who sent in these photos of their sail off the Virginia coast with, as they call it, 'their boat puppy dog', Schooner.

It does look like the kind of day any explorer would  enjoy and decide it was a good place to set up a new colony.  The colony and the greeting live on.

The guard puppy.
