" Cruising has two pleasures. One is to go out in wider waters from a sheltered place. The other is to go into a sheltered place from wider waters."
~Howard Bloomfield

A River Race on Sailstice:

We sailed my old C&C 36 Summertime in the River Regatta on the Manatee River at Palmetto Florida. The wind was quite variable, but it never quit. Despite running aground on the first leg (of 12 legs!) and being stuck for 6 minutes, we won the Cruising Division. As was the case with this event last year, the race was very well run and the Regatta Point Marina put on a great event, with lots of great food and drink. A good time was had by all.

'94 degrees and almost no breeze..the water was wonderfully refreshing for a dip. '

Out there somewhere

' I took 13 people who had never sailed out in the morning, then sailed with my wife and son in the afternoon. It doesn't get any better.'
