Did You Sail on Sailstice? These Sailors Did

Sailstice

Our favorite part of Sailstice (aside from sailing!) is reading all of your stories. We love to hear where with who and how you raised your sails. We are always amazed by the very different ways we enjoy the same thing, and that is what Sailstice is all about. Here are a couple of Sailstice tales from our community. If you haven't shared your story with us yet, what are you waiting for? We will be sharing your stories on our blog in the coming weeks.

Nauti Dog

Here is a picture of the Nauti Dog Crew just before setting sail on our Father’s Day/Sailstice voyage. We sailed from Deale, Maryland to the Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse on the Chesapeake Bay. After a good long sail, we had a great cookout and celebrated Father’s Day! It was the year’s longest day and one of the very best days that I can recall in a long time. - Matt Venhaus, S/V Nauti Dog

Sandy

Sandy Gelnaw and sailor dog Zyna on the Snake River, Eastern Washington state. Wishing for wind.

Bees Nees

I singlehanded my sailing vessel, Bees Knees, with my 11-year-old English Springer Spaniel, Lucy. We sailed up from Delaware Bay the day before, but on Saturday were sailing from Sandy Hook to Port Washington with a few other sailboats! - Ann Frederick

Russ

We participated in the Eastport Yacht Club (Annapolis, Maryland) annual Leukemia Cup, then sailed up to the Magothy River to raft up with Hunter Sailing Association friends. Beautiful day! -Peter Harsh
