The Perry Yacht Club, of Lawrence, Kansas, is hosting a Summer Sailstice event sponsored by the Sailin’ Sisters. The group has invited all sailors to sail by the boat anchored outside the harbor to “catch a refreshment” and have their photo taken between 6:30 and 8:30 PM, June 18th. The event has been organized by the Sailin' Sisters, a group of women interested in learning to improve their sailing skills in the company of other women sailors. Each year they hold classes in the off season taught at Kansas City Sailing and a ladies only cruise with a theme. Sometimes special shirts are made for the occasion and other times it is a decorate your boat contest. In 2010, the Cruisin' Cougars took the prize. The Sailin’ Sisters is looking forward to hosting the Summer Sailstice event again this year. Everyone is encouraged to sail by, catch a refreshment and have their photo taken. Come join us!
