Here's the news on the news!

Here's the news on the news!

Local Summmer Sailstice participants are using the tools available on the site to help get the word out in their local news media. Summer Sailstice is growing because many groups across the country are creating their own events and then publicizing them in their local media.

Often the media only covers sailing when a billionaire gets on the water or a sailboat sinks.  But we all know there's so much more to sailing but it's hard for the media to cover because we're all so spread out, we sail in such different ways (kiteboards to tallships), there are so many different kinds of boats and events.  Summer Sailstice gives us all something we all do together - in our own unique way.

Here's some links to some of the 2012 Summer Sailstice coverage.  Simple things like posting your local event on Yelp can bring you local participation.  See what others are doing and use the Summer Sailstice tabs to Yacht Clubs, Boat Classes or Schools/Associations to use the pre-written press release to get your own news out!
