Summer Sailstice is welcoming Jeanneau aboard as a 2013 sponsor.
It’s great to have companies who not only like to build and sell great sailboats but also have a passion for sailing they want to share with the world. Paul Fenn, president of Jeanneau USA said, ‘First and foremost Jeanneau wants to support sailing. We want to help inspire people to get on the water under sail and then they'll figure out how they want to participate. Summer Sailstice is a great way for us to support participation in sailing. We of course want to see our owners out celebrating sailing but most important in all of this is for everyone with a sailboat to take advantage of it to get on the water and hoist their sails.’
Over the years over 150 Jeanneau owners have participated in Summer Sailstice from all parts of the US and some in Europe. And, of course, we look forward to welcoming more Jeanneau owners to celebrate sailing together in the years ahead. Jeanneau, started in France in 1956, has evolved into a premier builder of fine performance cruisers. Now, with thousands of boats sailing, it’s almost possible to have a Jeanneau sailing on Summer Sailstice in every time zone around the world.
In 2011 in the US the JSO, Jeanneau Sailboat Owners group, was formed to connect and coordinate Jeanneau sailing owners and activities. They’ll have an opportunity to all connect by hoisting their sails together on June 22, 2013.
One of the larger annual Summer Sailstice rallies has always been the Pacific NW CanAm Summer Sailstice Jeanneau Rendezvous held by dealer Marine Servicecenter. They’ve always started the summer sailing season by gathering up to 30 Jeanneau owners for the annual rendezvous in the longest weekend days of the year. In the Pacific NW that means daylight and sailing until late in the evening.
