   One month countdown - to

          Sailstice June 23rd

May 23rd, 2012 | Summer Sailstice Newsletter

June 23rd is just a month away so it's time to sign up and update your 2012 Sailstice sailing plans.  You definitely want to make sure the winter tarp is off, the bottom painted and the boat launched so you can start your summer sailing on Summer Sailstice -- or sooner.  With just a month to go, we'll be sending a weekly email with updates and reminders -- after that, the emails fade away, and like you, we go summer sailing!

2011 Footloose Charter winners just returned from their

Free BVI Charter!

One day sailing on Summer Sailstice turned into 10 free days of sailing in the BVI aboard a 43' Footloose charter boat for Carleen and Darwin Southard.  Little did they expect, when they signed up their Catalina 28, 'Moana' sailing out of Oceanside Yacht Club in Southern California, they'd be off on their first ever BVI charter a year later.  Check out their trip video.

Why sail on June 23rd?

     - It's the first weekend of the summer sailing season,

     - There's more sunlight sailing hours than any other weekend

     - It's Summer Sailstice so you can sail and celebrate with the whole world

All together now...Who's sailing with us?

The following are among the sailboat builders who are contacting their owners inviting them to sign up and sail with you:

Is your class signed up?

How can Summer Sailstice help promote sailing at your club or in your class?

To grow, you need visibility for your club or fleet and activities to invite others to participate.  Summer Sailstice is a tool creating a template to help you showcase your club or class while bringing attention to all of sailing.  And using the Summer Sailstice tools is easy -- you don't have to start from scratch.  Visit the Boat Class, Yacht Club or School tabs to access materials to create a Sailstice event and invite others to join.
