We’ve got a lot of great prizes for 2010 but none can beat a free one-week charter on a 40’ sloop in the BVI from The Moorings. If you’ve never been to the BVI or even if you have been many times you’ll be ready to limbo lower and celebrate more if this certificate arrives in your mailbox. As always, our one regret when handing out a great prize like this is that we can’t keep it ourselves. One new thing is The Moorings has built a pretty spectactular new, green certified base in the BVI meaning you'll have a cleaner, greener start to your Summer Sailstice winning sail.
This time of year is busy as we really want to sail more but also need to plan to collect, organize and distribute the over 400 prizes we award by random drawing to anyone who’s signed up and sailing on Summer Sailstice. Of course, we don’t actually have the CIA or FBIgo out and investigate whether or not you went sailing but I’m sure, besides missing a great day on the water, you’d feel pretty bad to snag a prize when you didn’t hoist your sails. We should also say that if the weather where you are is telling you ‘don’t sail’ you should listen. Better to heed your gut instinct on whether you should actually sail and live to sail another Summer Sailstice than to feel obligated and sail when you know you shouldn’t.
Of course we’ll be sending out this stack of NKE hats, the Dax One-Touch winch handles, lots of free, one-year magazine subscriptions, great gear from North and Harken, the Hobie Kayak and lots of other goodies. Check the prize list to see all that’s being offered this year. It’s updated pretty frequently throughout the spring as we confirm new prizes.
