   Get Real -- Go Sailing

           June 23rd

Summer Sailstice is making the virtual real.  On June 23rd, it's time to drop the computer, drop the emails, skip the texts and get out sailing in the real world (yes, we know we're emailing you to say this!).  June 23rd is when our emails slow to a zephyr and our sailing time moves up the beaufort scale.  It's time to sign up to sail.  There's a time and a place for everything and the weekend of June 23rd is the time to turn off the digital devices and go sailing.

Bonus Sailing Day, June 20th!

Go sailing on the actual solstice.  Summer Sailstice celebrates sailing on the weekend closest to the solstice but you can or should sail on the actual solstice .  And we've made it easy:  we've written an "official" note to excuse you from work on the solstice, Wednesday, June 20th.  Normally, the solstice is on the 21st but on leap years, it's the 20th.

Print and pass this to your boss:  Excuse Note

Then log in and go sailing!

This could be you!

When you sign up for Summer Sailstice you not only declare your participation in a worldwide sailing holiday but you get a chance to put yourself in this picture.  You could win the Footloose charter and anchor right here off the Baths on Virgin Gorda.  That would make a great day sailing even better!

Tomorrow, June 8th is World Oceans Day.  It's a great day to remember the oceans when you sign up for Summer Sailstice.  When you sign up you can "check the box" to contribute funds to our environmental partner, Sailors for the Sea, which is dedicated to enlisting sailors in ocean conservation and renewal.  With all of us sailing together it won't take much to make a big difference.  So sign up, go sailing, save the seas.

Do you know a good Crew Listing service?

The Summer Sailstice site has a page of links to Crew Listing services to help those who have boats and need crew or those who'd like to crew.  How do we get more sailors sailing "together" on Summer Sailstice?  Is your crew registered?  Do you have some recommendations of good crew link services?  If so, email them to:  john@summersailstice.com

 Get your gear on!

Order now to get your gear on at Summer Sailstice!  Whether it's paprika or pink, navy or white, show off your colors at Summer Sailstice on June 23rd!
