Nova Scotia and the Bras d'Or Lakes

Not all Summer Sailstice ‘events’ involve large groups of sailboats getting together. The idea is that we all participate together even if, like Dan and Diane Gallant, you’re escaping to your own quiet cove like the one they’ve found here.


Dan wrote to say, ‘This is in the Bras d'Or Lakes in Nova Scotia where we will be going this summer. We are on the hook in Maskell's Cove. Our Island Packet 31, Aweigh, at rest after a great day sailing in the lakes with my first mate, Diane...’


The Bras d’Or lakes are inland, salt-water lakes accessed via locks opening up an enormous inland cruising area in Nova Scotia. To read more on the lakes have a look at this article in Windcheck Magazine.
