You might think that's a long time, and in some circumstances it is a long time. Circumstances such as knowing your new boat is 20 weeks off delivery, or knowing you have to count 20 weeks worth of sleeps before you quit your job and become a full-time cruiser can certainly make the time seem like years. But the truth is 20 weeks sails by very quickly, particularly if you want to plan ahead and organize yourself to be ready for the next best thing to a new boat, or becoming a full-time cruiser - Summer Sailstice 2018!

Saratoga Lake Sailing Club in Malta, NY is celebrating with an Open Day and free sails on Saturday 6/23 and Sunday 6/24. The club invites new and potential sailors to get out on the water with experienced intructors and skippers, and to learn about the club's activities and facilities. Learn more...
Half Moon Bay Yacht Club, CA is celebrating with 'Sail a Small Boat Day'. HMBYC is offering instruction aboard their fleet of 6'-20' sailboat, kayaks, and stand up paddleboards. This year the club is including adaptive sailing craft for sailors with disabilities. The family oriented club is located on the beach at the west end of Pillar Point Harbor. Learn more...
Terry and his crew will be sailing SV CarolMarie on the bay off Sauvie Island on the Columbia River, in Oregon.
'SV CarolMarie is our fourth boat, and each has been participating in Sailstice since 2001.' Since celebrating their first Summer Sailstice in 2001, this crew have kept up the tradition aboard each of their vessels, sailing out of Chula Vista Marina with the Sauvie Island Yacht Club.
