Renowned San Francisco Bay Sailing School Plans Sailstice Party Open to Everyone

DISCLOSURE:  I learned to sail with OCSC a few weeks before leaving on my first open ocean voyage aboard the former racing yacht Alaska Eagle.  And I continue my schooling with them every chance I get, despite living quite a distance away in Wyoming.  I have a special interest in writing this story because OCSC and its awesome instructors remain close to my heart.

So ... my advice is:

Sign up and join their June 23rd Summer Sailstice party.  It doesn't matter whether you're a member or non-member; a beginner sailor or expert, the adventure and fun will be well worth it.  And you just might learn something along the way.

Saturday's Sailstice celebration has two parts:

It begins with a fantastic three-Hour Schooner Seaward Sail from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. that's open to members and non-members. Space is limited to 44 people so call OCSC early.  Members pay $56.25, while non-members pay $75.  Then attend a FREE party open to everyone between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday and enjoy a yummy BBQ, drinks, music and hang out with lots of fun people.  You don't have to partake in both events, but hopefully you'll want to.  The party and meet-up site for the Seaward Sail are at OCSC's home:

One Spinnaker Way
Berkeley Marina
Berkeley, CA 94710
37° 52' 03" N
122° 19' 06" W

OCSC Founder and President Anthony Sandberg, OCSC staff and its phenomenal instructors hope to see many familiar faces ans well as lots of new ones.

"The Summer Sailstice was created in 2000 and has since blossomed into a world-wide event that now attracts thousands of sailors from across the globe," OCSC's newsletter says.  "We think an international holiday to celebrate sailing is a pretty good reason to party, so we'll be rising to the occasion here at the club!"
