Sailstice at 50 degress North in British Columbia

We have owned our Catalina 30, "Morgan le Fay", for 20 years. Experienced
cruisers "off the beaten path", we celebrated the Sailstice with some good
live Blues music and six other boats at Shoal Bay. Massive potluck
appetizers on the veranda of the bar with fresh caught seafood, ling cod,
oysters, crab; Mexican and Canadian beers and wines from many places.

During the gold rush era on the west coast, Shoal Bay was touted as an
alternative route to the gold fields. Although unlikely that anyone ever
succeeded in getting through the mountains and canyons to the gold fields
from Shoal Bay, a town was planned and lots sold. The present population is
5.

It is a small landing with a bar/estaurant north of the famous cruising
grounds and infamous tidal rapids of Desolation Sound, British Columbia.
Dock available year round; bar/restaurant summer only.
