The Lake Eustis Sailing Club (Eustis, FL) will be hosting a full weekend of events to celebrate the Sailstice! They’ve invited other sailing clubs in the area (including The Sailing Club of Central Florida, The Mt. Dora Yacht Club, The Lake Monroe Sailing Club, The Ocala Sailing Club, the Central Florida Yacht Club, the Villages Sailing Club and the West Coast Trailer Sailing Squadron).
Sailors are welcome to arrive Friday after twelve to settle in and set up boats and campsites. There will be a tentative pizza party that evening. On Saturday there is a skipper’s meeting at 10am, for the Poker Run race from 11 to 3. Or sailors can choose to go for a casual sail and explore the lake! At 4, everyone will congregate at the picnic tables to hear the race results. Then, it is time to enjoy a BBQ/potluck and celebrate until the sun goes down. However, the fun doesn’t stop then! Sailors can join in an evening moonlight sail if they choose. The next morning there may also be a boat building demonstration. Sounds like sailors will head home tied out and content Sunday afternoon!
