Summer Sailstice has long partnered with environmental organzations focused on ocean sustainability with the belief that sailors relationship with the sea should go beyond just the pure pleasure of sailing but also include a contribution towards restoring the stressed ocean ecosystem. For the past couple of years we have worked with Sailors for the Sea which is an organization specifically focuses on enlisting sailors in this effort. In a few short years Sailors for the Sea has created many new initiatives supported by it's growing membership of sailors. Summer Sailstice is happy to have partnered with this worthy organization and congratulates Sailors for the Sea in being awarded this important role in the next America's Cup.

"Sailors have the responsibility to ensure that our sailing grounds remain protected for future generations to enjoy. And as we are delivering the most prestigious sailing regatta in the world, we believe that we have an even greater responsibility. Looking at the way we manage the on-the-water event is a natural place to start on our sustainability path towards setting a new standard for our sport. We believe that our partnership with Sailors for the Sea will demonstrate our commitment to delivering the 34th America's Cup as an event with a positive social purpose." said Neill Duffy, ACEA, Director of Sustainability.
