We spoke to Carol Hansen at Sunsail to find out what they’re doing for Summer Sailstice and it’s no surprise that Sunsail has lots of sailing flotilla opportunities scheduled to start around June 19th! As one of the largest operators with an abundance of flotilla charters they know the attraction of sailing during the long days surrounding the solstice. It is some of the best sailing weather at all their locations from the BVI to the Med and their fleets are full of sailors looking to take advantage of summer sailing weather.
Despite it’s reputation as an ideal winter get-away, the Caribbean can offer idyllic sailing during the ‘shoulder season’ with great weather, lower rates and less crowded anchorages. Of course the Med has numerous well known sailing attractions and summer and Summer Sailstice are the very best time take it all in.
Here’s a quick look at where Sunsail sailors will be enjoying their Summer Sailstice:
In the Caribbean:

BVI starting 6/18

St. Vincent starting 6/18
In the Med:

Saronic / Greece:

Ithaca, Kalamos, Paxos, Vounaki -- all starting 6/20
Sporades / Greece:
Milina, Pelagos, Trikeri -- all starting 6/18
Croatia
Kornati, Kremik -- all starting 6/19
Ruza, Dubrovnik -- all starting 6/20
Turkey

Dorian, Gocek, Kas, Orhaniye, Turgutreis -- all starting 6/19
Somehow it seems like it would be good to plan to try each of these locations one Summer Sailstice at a time.
