Windworks Sailing Club organizes a Sailstice Race, plus more!

Windworks Sailing Center, a sailing club just six miles north of Seattle, WA will be hosting a full day of sailing from 9am to 3pm. This will be their fourth year joining other sailstice sailors around the globe to celebrate the beginning of the sailing season! Windworks will have windshare sails on their cruising boats as well as Catalina 25/Martin 244 races. For sailors interested in racing, there will be races run by Capt. Brian Gross (races cost $45 per person and sailors must call the office to register). After a fun filled day of sailing, the start of summer celebrations don’t end – a free barbecue, beer, and snacks will be offered dockside from 4 to 6:30pm.

This year's Sailstice will help raise money for Northwest Harvest. This great organization fights hunger right in Washington, and 10% of all Sailstice charter fees will be donated to Northwest Harvest in addition to 100% of the donations collected at the barbecue.

Windworks is also selling Saistice Tees: They are encouraging sailors to complete the “Sailstice Rainbow” by pre-ordering the Sailstice 2011 t-shirt, which comes in BLUE this year. (If you are, in fact, keeping track, that should give you yellow, (Texas) orange, (Kelly) green, and blue-- almost there!). T-shirts are $14 and can be pre-ordered by calling the Winworks office.
